"Shine People Shine"

It’s a good few years now since Graham Kendrick penned his popular hymn “Shine Jesus Shine” and my feeling is that God now wants to turn that back on us to say “Shine people shine”.
In the Christmas story we are all familiar with the wise men who were led to Jesus by following a star. Today right across the globe there are millions of people; rich and poor, educated and uneducated, but all wise in their own way who are looking for answers to some of life’s biggest questions.
They are looking for their own particular star that will lead them to the truth, give them a reason to live etc. If you are a Christian then you are that star and God is crying out with a very loud voice “Shine people shine. You have my Spirit, you have my life, you have all that you need to live in victory. You have the peace which passes all understanding, you have joy unspeakable and full of glory and you have the unconditional love of God which is new every morning. You have freedom from sin, you have complete forgiveness and you have everlasting life. You are rich beyond measure and your god has plans to prosper you and not to do you harm to give you a bright future and a glorious hope.
The amazing power that raised Jesus from the dead lives on the inside of you and you have the “X” factor that people are craving for today. You have the answer to the aching hearts of people so go in my name and shine as radiant stars in this dark world. As things get darker so you will shine ever brighter. Do not be like those foolish virgins that you read about in my Word who allowed their lamps to run out of oil, but be wise and ensure that your lamps are full of my Holy Spirit and then go forth and shine like the sun.
Bring light and warmth into the lives of people. Be my shining lights to the nations of the world. “You are my stars and it is time for you to come out of the shadows, rise up in the sky so that people can see you for who you are and what I have made you to be. It’s not about you, but it’s all about me. It’s Christ in you the hope of glory and in this new season I will draw people to myself through you.
It is your time to shine people shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory and be ablaze with the fire of my Spirit. If you will get out there and shine I will draw people to you and they will be transformed. I will turn their sorrow into joy and their mourning into dancing”.
